Rootes Type Blower
The gerotors are cycloidal in shape and mesh with clearance so that they do not touch the housing wall or each other. The set is gear driven with the gear teeth synchronized to the gerotors so that the gerotors do not touch within the backlash range of the gears. The gerotor outside diameter is three inches. A one inch thick blower will pump 5.3 cubic inches per revolution theoretically. Allow 5% loss. The animation shows the gear set running at a slower speed so the meshing is visible.
